What is 7 Peaks Fitness???

What is 7 Peaks Fitness? 7 Peaks Fitness is an outdoor, complete overall body conditioning program that includes cutting edge fitness, team motivation, and a never repeat workout. Each day is a different workout and is packed with a series of fun exercises that are specifically designed to tone and strengthen the body, increase cardiovascular fitness, and leave the mind and body feeling refreshed and invigorated. During a session with 7PF one can expect to engage in a combination of calisthenics, resistance training, jump roping, core strengthening, obstacle courses, sport drills, cardio training, agility, partner drills, yoga, stretching, and more. One can also expect to notice dramatic increase in energy levels, speed, strength, and endurance. Decrease in pant size and body fat, and an overall improved athletic performance and self-confidence! 7PF is team oriented and designed to encourage and support one while pushing oneself to reach and go beyond their own fitness goals!

About Me (owner/coach): I danced competitively for 15 years and played high school soccer for two years. As an 8th grader I started playing water polo on a men's club team then played on the high school boys team till a few friends and I got a women's league sanctioned in Santa Cruz County. I continued to play water polo and swimming throughout high school and on club teams, along with running on the cross-country team my senior year. In Jr. College, I became co-captain of the cheerleading squad and was a cheerleader for two years along with running on the cross-country team, the second year. After only running for two years, winning conference championships, and placing 6th in state, I was offered multiple cross-country scholarships by various Division 1 colleges. I chose to run for San Jose State because it offered one of the best kinesiology departments in the area, where I obtained a degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-professional (physical therapy/pre-sports med) and graduated in June of 2006. After college I pursued distance running where I placed top finisher in many local races including a 17th women overall in the 2004 Women's Nike Marathon in San Francisco. I have developed a love for sport in general and have coached for Team and Training and kids Track Club. I have interned at physical therapy clinics, along with adaptive physical education facilities where I have helped teach aerobics and weight training. I have also coached/managed one of the biggest boot camps in the California Bay Area (Bay Area Boot Camp). By obtaining a degree in kinesiology and also being an athlete, I have the knowledge and skills that are needed to help coach, rehabilitate, and train people to help them reach their own personal goals!

New Booty Camp Name!

7 Peaks Fitness is now the new name of Bend Booty Camp (www.7peaksfitness.com). Even though demo week got off to a slow start, I am convinced that once the weather heats up demo week will be rock'n!
I woke up early this morning to get my run in and realized that it wasn't going to be as easy as I thought. I was sore!!! Since my Mom and my supportive friend were the only people at camp yesterday, I decided to do the workout with them.... 100 push-ups, and multiple sprints later we were done and feeling proud of our accomplishments. By the time I droped off my friend and met my Mom at Newport Market the soreness had kicked in! Nothing that a few glasses of wine and ribs couldn't take care of! This morning was my brutal reminder though of yesterdays workout!
So there is going to be a possibility of a demo week next week (April 28th-May 1st). I figure that even if it's a slow week, doing the extra workouts will help me to prepare for the massive calorie intake at Cinco de Mayo. There is no way that one should hold back from chips and margaritas... as I always say "Just exercise more that week"! Stay tuned for more details!

California Waiting

Bend Booty Camp is on it's way! The only problem is that the name is very similar to the "other" boot camp in town. Problem, yes. Solution, new name! There is still going to be the word "booty" in it (you can't have one without the other), but just enough of a difference so the two camps won't get mixed up.
Demo/free camp has gone well except for the weather, which is scaring everyone away! Monday we had a wonderful, but small group of women who were kicking butt in the elements (planks while it was hailing) and yes, you try jumping rope when the wind is blowing your rope in the opposite direction. The evening was then followed by my Dad's birthday dinner at Typhoon's Restaurant with warm sake! Yummy.
Yesterday nobody showed up for the camp, but can ya blame them.... I wouldn't go! It was raining all day and once that wind picked up... heck no! So my Mom (the brave soldier) and I walked to the top of the Butte to take in the scenery.
Today the weather isn't looking any better. The wind will not stop howling and the clouds are starting to look threatening! We'll see if anyone comes to camp. My plan is to do another week of free camp to get more people interested. I'm hoping that this weather will blow over by next week so more people will venture out. As long as it doesn't rain... I'm happy! But seriously, where is our warm Central Oregon weather?

Slow Night, So Long

So, I think I am finally getting this blogging down...
I am excited that my Booty (yes booty) Camp is finally getting up and going! It has been in the works for what seems to be so long!
Next week April 21st-24th I will be having a free demo week! -Open to all women and all fitness levels- I am hoping to get feedback from the "campers" so my camp will be what they want... for the people!
After next week, I will be offering a 4 week booty camp session at Pilot Butte!
Yesterday my husband Damon Kluck, our dog Duke, and I went to Pilot Butte to check it out again. I'm not sure if that's something the campers would be excited about... we will be running/jogging/walking to the top of the Butte at least once a week (this is booty camp)! What a view!
Here are the details about Bend Booty Camp Demo Week:
Date: Monday, April 21st - Thursday, April 24th
Time: 5:30pm-6:30pm
Location: Pilot Butte -meet in the parking lot near the restrooms-
What to bring: A set of hand held weights (3lbs-10lbs), yoga mat, and water
Contact me (lindsay) if you have any questions! lindsay@bendbootycamp.com
